Learn how to properly bake, prepare, and assemble your own 6" layer cake!
The first half of the class will teach you how to make a butter cake and swiss meringue buttercream. In the second half, each student will prepare and assemble their own four layer cake, form torting layers to crumb coating and everything in between. Simple decorating techniques will be taught to give your cake a professional finish.
Students will be supplied with a booklet of Matchbox Kitchen recipes, including vanilla bean cake, rich chocolate cake, and swiss meringue buttercream. Also included are a list of resources for supplies and ingredients, flavor pairing ideas, and helpful tips and tricks to make your cake delicious and professional.
Light snacks and refreshments will be available. All students will go home with their cake and a recipe/resources booklet. Everything is provided, just bring yourself!
